The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Senior React Developer to join a growing engineering team delivering secure, user-focused digital services for high-profile public sector programmes. This is an opportunity to work on modern, cloud-based applications that have a real impact, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in an agile environment.

Based in Leeds, you’ll work on a hybrid basis, with occasional travel to customer sites as project requirements dictate.

The Role

As a Senior React Developer, you’ll play a key role in designing and developing scalable front-end applications using modern JavaScript technologies. You’ll work closely with UX designers, back-end engineers, DevOps specialists and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions while mentoring junior developers and promoting engineering best practices.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing responsive, accessible web applications using React and TypeScript.

• Building reusable components and scalable front-end architectures.

• Collaborating with back-end developers to integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.

• Writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

• Participating in code reviews and driving engineering standards.

• Supporting CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices.

• Working within Agile delivery teams to deliver secure digital solutions.

• Mentoring junior developers and contributing to technical decision-making.

About You

You’ll be a passionate front-end engineer with strong commercial experience delivering enterprise-scale React applications.

You’ll have experience with:

• React.js and TypeScript.

• Modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5 and CSS3.

• State management libraries such as Redux or Context API.

• REST APIs and asynchronous programming.

• Testing frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library.

• Git and collaborative development workflows.

• Agile/Scrum delivery environments.

• CI/CD pipelines and modern software engineering practices.

Desirable experience includes:

• Next.js.

• Node.js.

• Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

• Docker and Kubernetes.

• Government Digital Service (GDS) standards.

• Accessibility (WCAG) best practices.

Security Clearance

Due to the nature of the projects, active SC Clearance is essential. Unfortunately, sponsorship is not available for this position.
