The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a specialist engineering team delivering mission-critical software solutions within a highly secure environment.
Working as part of a cross-functional Agile team, you will contribute to the design, development, deployment and continuous improvement of enterprise-grade applications and services that support important national and operational objectives.
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside highly skilled engineers on complex technical challenges while benefiting from excellent professional development opportunities.
Please note: Due to the nature of the work, candidates must currently hold active eDV (Enhanced Developed Vetting) clearance.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop and maintain software solutions using industry best practices
• Collaborate with stakeholders, architects and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality solutions
• Contribute to the successful delivery of project milestones and objectives
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team
• Influence and contribute to technical direction and decision-making
• Participate in code reviews, testing and quality assurance activities
Required Experience
We are looking for candidates with experience in several of the following areas:
• Full-stack software development within Agile teams
• Building enterprise-grade web applications and backend services
• Java development, including Spring Boot
• Modern front-end development using frameworks such as React or Vue
• Cloud technologies, including AWS and/or Azure
• Containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible or similar tools
• Unit testing and automated testing practices
• Source control using Git, including branching strategies, pull requests and merge workflows
• Data visualisation tools and techniques
