ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is a specialist organisation operating at the forefront of technical security research. The team works on projects that directly support national security objectives and are known for fostering a collaborative and knowledge driven environment. They are expanding their capability and are now seeking an experienced Vulnerability Researcher to join the team.

THE VULNERABILITY RESEARCHER ROLE

As a Vulnerability Researcher, you will analyse a broad spectrum of platforms and technologies, conduct reverse engineering, and develop proof of concept tooling where required. You will work closely with other researchers to share techniques, explore new approaches, and contribute to capability development. The role involves using tooling such as Ghidra, IDA Pro, Frida, and Unicorn, along with the freedom to develop bespoke tools that support research outcomes.

VULNERABILITY RESEARCHER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Experience or strong interest in vulnerability research, reverse engineering, or exploit development
  • Understanding of low-level systems, from assembly to higher level languages
  • Knowledge of the exploit development lifecycle, from bug identification to proof-of-concept creation
  • Proficiency in a programming language such as Python, C, C++, C Sharp, or Java
  • Experience with platforms such as Windows, Linux, firmware, mobile, or IoT (desirable but not essential)
  • Active eDV clearance is required
